Midwest Machine 03 (14U) Takes 3rd at PGF Midwest Regional Championship

In their final tournament of the season, Midwest Machine 03 (14U) captured 3rd place of 66 teams at the PGF Midwest Regional Championship held in Peoria, IL from July 26 through July 29th.

After getting bounced into the Loser’s Bracket in the first round by Nebraska Gold 13U, the team that eventually won the championship, the girls showed their resilience and rattled off an impressive 9 consecutive victories in a 48-hour period to reach the Final Four. The depleted girls were just edged out by a final score of 10-11 in their Final Four rematch against Nebraska Gold 13U securing the third place finish.

Including pool play, the team’s overall record was 10-3 and they played the most games of any team in the field due to the impressive run in the Loser Bracket. What a great finish to the season!

Midwest Machine 03 – 14U PGF Battle of the Borders Champions!


Midwest Machine 03 went 5-0 in 14U bracket play at the PGF Showcase “Battle of the Borders” on June 15-17, 2018.  It was quite the Father’s Day run for the softball dads in the crowd. For the 5 games, offense was aplenty as the team outscored the competition 51-10 and the defense was solid with only a single error committed. Great showing to take the 14U championship from the 20 team field featuring teams from Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota.

03 Midwest Machine Takes Victory Over Crush Tidal Waves 04

03 Midwest Machine took home a 5-1 victory over Crush Tidal Waves 04 on Sunday.

03 Midwest Machine got things moving in the first inning, when Bailey Nicholoff doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs.

Emma Borrelli took the win for 03 Midwest Machine . She allowed four hits and one run over six innings, striking out two and walking zero.

Shelby Wasilewski started the game for Crush Tidal Waves 04 . She allowed three hits and five runs over three innings, striking out two. Addison Mass threw three innings out of the bullpen.

Borrelli, Jessica Hoffman, Adrianna Martinez, and Nicholoff each collected one hit to lead 03 Midwest Machine . 03 Midwest Machine was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Martinez made the most plays with seven.

03 Midwest Machine Clinches Lead In Third Inning For Victory Over Bulls Sox Academy

03 Midwest Machine took the lead late and defeated Bulls Sox Academy 13-5 on Saturday. The game was tied at three with 03 Midwest Machine batting in the bottom of the third when an error scored two runs for 03 Midwest Machine .

03 Midwest Machine earned the victory despite allowing Bulls Sox Academy to score three runs in the second inning. Fraiangella, Giacovo, and Butler powered the big inning with RBIs.

In the first inning, 03 Midwest Machine got their offense started when Jessica Hoffman tripled on a 3-0 count, scoring one run.

After Bulls Sox Academy scored two runs in the top of the fourth, 03 Midwest Machine answered with two of their own. Bulls Sox Academy scored when Butler grounded out, scoring one run. 03 Midwest Machine then answered when Maggie Baumstark doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run and Adrianna Martinez doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Martinez led things off on the rubber for 03 Midwest Machine . She lasted three and a third innings, allowing four hits and five runs.

Sanders got the start for Bulls Sox Academy. She lasted two and a third innings, allowing seven hits and seven runs while striking out one. Dutcher and Butler entered the game from the bullpen, throwing one inning and one-third of an inning respectively.

03 Midwest Machine racked up 13 hits in the game. Arielle Wallace, Martinez, Hoffman, and Baumstark all collected multiple hits for 03 Midwest Machine . Wallace led 03 Midwest Machine with three hits in three at bats. 03 Midwest Machine didn’t commit a single error in the field. Bella Garcia had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.
